Since the beginning of the year, 447 thousand tons of vegetables and green crops have been grown in Russian winter greenhouses, which is 4.9% more than in the same period in 2021 (426.1 thousand tons). Including the harvest of greenhouse cucumbers is 279.1 thousand tons (+1.8%), tomatoes – 158.4 thousand tons (+10.8%). The Ministry of Agriculture expects the positive dynamics in this segment to continue at the end of the year – according to the forecast, the harvest will be about 1.5 million tons.
Currently, the TOP-5 leading regions for the production of vegetables in winter greenhouses include the Lipetsk, Moscow, Volgograd, Kaluga regions and the Stavropol Territory.
